Office of the Assemblies

Thank you for conveying to me Student Assembly Resolution #18: Expanding Awareness of Academic Opportunities. I appreciate the SA highlighting that students can find learning of the many meaningful academic opportunities and experiences Cornell offers challenging due to the diverse channels through which these engagements are communicated by faculty and staff.

My colleagues in the office of the vice provost for undergraduate education will collect input from students and academic units to better understand how best to provide students with the information they need and want to have about potential opportunities. Gathering this feedback will help in the development of a streamlined and efficient communication strategy that enables students to know where to go for reliable, timely information and ensures that academic units are know their efforts to reach students are effective.

Once this input is collected and possible approaches have been explored, the office of the vice provost for undergraduate education will be in touch with the SA to share specific ideas for an improved, coordinated approach to be piloted in the Fall 2023 semester.
