Notes
Dear Patrick,

Thank you to Valeria and the SA for conveying to me Student Assembly Resolution #43: Fluoridation of Cornell’s Water Supply. I shared the resolution with Rick Burgess, Vice President of Facilities and Campus Services, and asked that he respond to the suggestion that Cornell fluoridate its potable water supply.

Sincerely,

Martha E. Pollack
President

Dear Patrick,

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to SA Resolution #43: Fluoridation of Cornell’s Water Supply.

Cornell University’s water system is interconnected with other local water utilities, including that of the City of Ithaca and the Southern Cayuga Lake Intermunicipal Water Commission (aka Bolton Point).

Cornell University routinely sells water to the City of Ithaca and Town of Ithaca, and the existing local laws, as well as the interconnected and collaborative nature of our water distribution systems, preclude any unilateral action by Cornell to fluoridate its drinking water.

Sincerely,

Rick Burgess
Vice President for Facilities and Campus Planning
